Course structure: The candidate will have postings in Dermatology and Pathology. They will
participate in daily skin biopsy reporting and learn basics of Clinical Dermatology. In addition, they will be trained in technical and interpretative aspects of special stains, direct and indirect immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostic techniques relevant to skin diseases. They will be able to view teaching slide sets. They will also participate in CPCs, seminars and journal clubs in both departments. They are required to undertake a research project and present a paper at a state/national level conference. There will be an exit written and practical exam as per RGUHS regulations. They will be paid a monthly stipend. Accommodation and transport arrangements must be made by the candidate.

The field of diagnostic pathology is rapidly advancing. The gap between "Benchtop" study and bedside application has been narrowed by research and the deployment of cutting-edge software technology.
Nephropathology also evolves from interpreting "patterns" to determining exact aetiopathogenesis, improving patient care. However, it is challenging for busy pathologists to keep up with the "knowledge boom" and new concepts.
Intending to update pathologists across India on recent advances in renal pathology, the Indian Society of Renal and Transplantation Pathology (ISRTP) has been organising conferences regularly.
