Consultant Clinical Pathologist
Clinical Laboratory, Altrus Hospital, Dehradun.

Job Description
As a Consultant Clinical Pathologist you will be expected to work in haematology, Clinical pathology and Biochemistry.
You will be responsible to ensure accurate, timely, reports while guiding clinicians, and ensuring and upholding patient safety.

Your Core Responsibilities will be:
Diagnostic Reporting — Independently interpret fluid cytology, bone marrow, haematology, biochemistry and serology samples with high diagnostic accuracy.
Clinical Correlation — Provide clinicopathological correlation and actively interacts with the clinicians and be involved in clinical case discussions.
Quality Assurance — Implement and monitor IQC, EQAS, delta checks, critical value policies, and audit compliance.
Emergency Support — Provide rapid reporting for urgent and critical haematology, biochemistry and serology parameters.
Documentation & Compliance — Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready records, including LIS/EMR entries, turnaround times, and quality logs.
Training & Mentorship — Train and mentor lab staff.

Key Technical Domains
Haematology — peripheral smears, bone marrow aspirates.
Clinical Pathology — Urine/stool analysis, body fluids, Card tests interpretation.
Biochemistry and Serology – Clinical correlation of the result generated and verification of the clinical relevance of the result generated.
Risk & Safety Management — Oversee biosafety, chemical safety, waste management, and incident reporting.
Workflow Optimization — Improve TAT, reduce pre-analytical errors, and streamline sample logistics.
Inventory & Equipment Oversight — Ensure calibration, maintenance, and validation of analysers and microscopes.

Qualifications & Experience
MD/DCP/DNB Pathology (mandatory)

Essential Skills
Diagnostic accuracy and analytical reasoning
Clear, structured communication with clinicians
Crisis handling (urgent samples).
